Joelle Sostheim is an associate at Providence Ventures, where she works on the investment team with a focus on market research and due diligence.
Prior to joining PV, Ms. Sostheim was a Venture Capital Analyst II at PitchBook, where she established research frameworks to provide independent commentary, analysis, and forecasts on private market activity. On PitchBook’s analyst team, Sostheim led the production of quarterly reports on US and European venture capital activity, trends in startup valuations, and global performance of VC funds. She also developed PitchBook’s emerging technology market maps, segmenting blockchain and AR/VR markets by use-case and end-user, and launched PitchBook’s coverage of impact investing in 2018. Her research and insights have been cited in Fortune, The Economist, Barron’s, The Atlantic, Inc., Economic Times, and VentureBeat. Sostheim started her career in VC working on the investor relations team at Capria Ventures, an impact investing fund-of-funds and fund accelerator targeting emerging market investments.
Sostheim has a degree in Economics from Oberlin College.
